I was laughing the other night about the fact that most of the time, I go to these figure nights, my drawings stink the whole place up. But when I come home all those bad drawings inform and improve what I’m working on. It’s good to draw without a real vested interest in the finished product. This is a group of ten and fifteen minute poses.
I won’t lie I absolutely botched a few of the poses from last weeks session. I do like this one though. I’m really enjoying using pastels for these, mainly because it is a media I’m unfamiliar with so I can’t get comfortable like I might while drawing in pen or pencil.
Also I’ve noticed a trend, my strongest drawing seems to always be the second from the last pose of the night. No matter the time frames of the different poses. Not sure what that is all about.
More drawings from TADRVA’s Open Figure Drawing Night. The top drawing is from the 10/21 session, the last four were from 11/4.
